About Me

Space Science Education has been the center of my professional career for many years. I have had the opportunity to meet so many people who have done amazing things with the space program and I continue to be inspired by those people.

My career as an educator began by accident. While working on my Masters in Marine Science at the University of South Alabama, I found out about a high school teaching position that was open. I applied and got the job...it changed my life and career goals forever. Thanks Mr. Lee at McGill-Toolen High School!

I taught for two years in Alabama and then joined the staff at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. I worked with all of the education programs and was involved in nearly every aspect of the business. Through the Cosmosphere, I had the opportunity to travel the world and teach kids about space, see NASA from the inside out (Check out the pic of me in JSC's motion based simulator) and learn from so many amazing people. After developing many new and exciting education programs and leading the education department for 10 years, I was given the opportunity to try getting back into the classroom. I taught three years at Wichita Heights High School before this amazing opportunity here at Collegiate. This incredible environment will require all of my skill and experience to get my students to achieve and dream in the ways that they must if they are to truly change the world and I know that they can.

Take this journey with me as we explore science through the lens of space exploration. Let's make fifth grade the year of exploration and discovery!
